Reviews for Govies Coffee Club
Review highlights
Based on 58 reviewsGovies Coffee Club is frequently praised for its welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and high-quality, freshly prepared food. Customers appreciate the generous portions and variety, including well-received vegan options. The cafe is noted for its cozy, small setting, which, while charming, can result in limited seating and occasional wait times. Coffee quality is consistently highlighted as a strong point, with many enjoying their personalized brews. Some feedback points to minor delays in service during busy periods, but overall, Govies Coffee Club is regarded as a pleasant spot offering excellent food and beverages in a clean and inviting environment near Hampden Park.
Lovely little cafe with beautiful food and great service. Street parking available on the surrounding roads. Outside seating available and toilet available.
This is an awkward one.A 50-50 shot is my best option on this first visit to this relatively new establishment to the area situated at 1 Carmunnock Rd adjacent to Hampden Park.Firstly food is really excellent as was friendliness of staff. We waited 30 mins for order to be brought by which time my coffee had gone cold.Had to ask for another.Restaurant is small with only around 8 tables.Could be termed cosy were it not for the noisy atmosphere. Coffee machine makes a terrible din as does banging sounds from disposal of used coffee grounds. I realise not much you can do about it in such a confined space but it does unfortunately not lend to a relaxing atmosphere on a sunday morning. Some brave souls were actually sitting outside at the few pavement tables on a Bright but very cold and windy morning My Stornoway stack with bacon and poached eggs on Sourdough toast was excellent, a little heavy on the quite spicy Chilli jam.Possibly better served separately in a small ramekin to be added to taste. My friends Vegetarian Breakfast was really good.A hearty plateful indeed. So a dilemma.Really great food and coffee but not so good for an intimate tete a tete. Regardless, i wish the owners every success which the quality of food deserves. A quick return visit today 18/4/24 to a much quieter and altogether better experience than last visit. We enjoyed some excellent "Rueben"New York style Pastrami sandwiches with salad garnish. As i stated last time food is excellent here.Service was also much improved today. Give the cafe a try. You won't be disappointed. Thanks to owner for recognising constructive opinion and acting on it to resolve previous issues.
Absolutely lovely food and really welcoming service here! Placed an order of sandwiches for pick up for a wee treat on a long car journey and was not disappointed. Really lovely ciabatta bread, generous portions and made fresh. I had to pick up some cakes too which were divine. Really appreciated them having a vegan option, which was absolutely delicious. Will be back soon - thank you Govies! Special mention to the lovely lady front of house who helped me out the door with my bag of goodies! :)
Lovely friendly staff and very clean. French toast is amazing - photo shows small portion. Small cafe (Mount Florida branch) so hit or miss if you’ll get a table. Have been a few times and it’s always been great.
Made very welcome as soon as we came in. Noisy due to the small premises. Coffee was lovely and made to my liking. Homemade fruit scone was tasty and served warm, not doughy like many I’ve had from other establishments. The background music was great and not too loud. Finished on Unchained Melody. £11.00 for 2 lattes and a fruit scone.
Visited the Pollock Country Park location today. Could not be happier with my experience. First time having porridge, which was very nice! Lovely staff, attentive and welcoming. After you're done at the park, before heading home, have a visit to the coffee club, I think you'll be happy you did.
Booked an afternoon tea for 4 to celebrate a very special lady’s birthday at Govies at Pollok Park. It was the best afternoon tea I have ever had. Great selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes and thought the cup of soup was a lovely touch. Staff were extremely helpful and went out of their way to make the birthday celebration extremely enjoyable. A new favourite place for me
